eラーニングと動機づけ：ARCSモデルからのアプローチ
e-Learning and Motivation: The ARCS Model Approach

このたび、学習意欲を高める手立て、学習の動機付けモデルとして世界的に有名なARCSモデルの提唱者であるフロリダ州立大学名誉教授のジョン・M・ケラー博士をお招きし、本セミナーを開催する運びとなりました。

ARCSモデルとは、学習意欲を高める手立てを、"やる気を出させるためにはどうしたらよいか"、"勉強する意欲をもたせるためにはどうしたらよいか"とただ漠然と考えるより、「なぜやる気がでないのか」という側面から捉え、それに応じた作戦を立てることが効果的であるとの視点にたち提唱されたモデルです。学生の注意をひきつけるAttention(注意)、学生が「役に立ちそうだな」と感じるRelevance(関連性)、学生が「これなら自分にもできそうだな」というConfidence(自信)、学生が「受けてよかったな」というSatisfaction(満足感)の4つの頭文字を取り名付けられています。

本講演会において得られる知見や情報は、eラーニングを活用した教育実践の場面だけでなく、通常の対面授業、講習会他、様々な場面において、必ず活用できるものであると考えます。

Prof. Keller is the founder of the ARCS Model, which deals "appeal" of instruction. Appeal is one of the three major goals of instructional design with effectiveness and efficiency. The ARCS Model has been widely used for various educational scenes in more than 50 countries to give a guideline for educational practitineers as to how to go about making instruction more appealing. Upon the invitation from ICoME 2010, an international conference to be held in Kumamoto, we are honored to have him talk in this seminar series. His latest book "Motivational design for learning and performance" will be covered to give us hints to how we can use e-learning to enhance students motivation.
