The contents of this manual may differ slightly depending on the version of Moodle, so please read as appropriate.
The "Dashboard" is a page that displays multiple pieces of information together.
The "Dashboard" displays a list of the courses you are registered in. You can also change your user profile (user picture, email address, etc.) and customize your preferences to suit your needs.
Initial layout of the "Dashboard"
The initial layout is arranged as shown in the figure below.
Below is a brief explanation of the functions of the numbered areas.
【1】User menu

Click to display a drop-down menu.

【2】Recently accessed courses
|
Courses are displayed in order of most recently accessed. |
【3】Calendar
|
If there are any deadlines for assignments or events in the courses you are registered in, they will be displayed on the calendar. |
【4】My Courses

A list of the courses you are registered in. |
【5】Timeline
|
If any deadlines have been set for assignments in the courses in which you are registered as a student, they will be displayed. |
【6】Upcoming Events
|
If there are any deadlines for assignments or events in the courses you are registered in, they will be displayed. |
【7】Private files
|
Private file storage allocated to each user – visible only to you. Files uploaded here can be selected from "Private Files" in the "File Picker" when attaching files in Moodle. |
【8】Online Users
|
Up to 50 users who are currently logged in to Moodle and have accessed the site within the last 5 minutes are displayed. Although each user name is a link, clicking it will not show that user’s details. *If you are registered in any courses, you can show other users' details by clicking on their user names. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Course name appears in light grey in My Courses.
Courses which you are registered as a teacher and which are not open to students (hidden) are shown in light grey.
Courses in which I should be registered are not displayed.
If you are registered as a student in a private (hidden) course, that course will not appear in My Courses.
